a day in the studio

I am in the middle of a big food-catalog shoot right now and I thought I'd give you a glimpse into the action.

The catalog showcases food for the holidays so I pulled some props ahead of time that fit that look.

A shot of the set. This particular shot went through many incarnations-- this one being the first. It ended up requiring a lot of tweaking and some piecing together of multiple products to make the perfect one for the photo.

I wanted a warm look to the shots and somehow misplaced my gold reflector but my awesome assistant rigged up this super cool make-shift warm-toned reflector! It cast a lovely golden tone on the subject, just as I had hoped it would.

Shoots like these, which deal with packaged and frozen food, require a LOT of product. Here is a shot of SOME of it.

Clare I LOVE This post. Love it!

I love seeing working studios in action and also what you did to get the shots you wanted.

I did a food photography and food styling event w/ Matt Armendariz (Matt Bites) & Adam here in So Cal and I loved loved being in their studio and I love seeing the shots of yours!

And your daily one pic per day posts that youve been doing. Ive been seeing all of them just not commenting. Some great images.
